Best one for me has to be the Sega Genesis.
Introduced Sonic The Hedgehog and got hooked ever since.
It had many other good games like:

    Streets Of Rage
    Revenge Of Shinobi
    Arrow Flash
    Vectorman

I did also get a chance to play a Sega Saturn but not enough.

    Yours?

I like the Genesis, and it has some of my favorite platformers of all time (Sonic 3 & K, Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Earthworm Jim), but even so, something seems kind of bland about it. Regardless, it's a great system.

My favorite Sega console though, is the Sega Saturn. A powerhouse for 2D games, a great game library, and really feels like having an arcade machine in your house. Many of the games for the Saturn also have high replay value, as they're easy to learn, but hard to master, meaning that I'm always coming back to it! Favorite games for the system include Fighters Megamix, generally any Capcom fighter, Cotton 2, Mr Bones, Daytona USA, Sega Rally, and Burning Rangers.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Dreamcast!!
When I first laid eyes on it with Sonic Adventure, I wanted it so bad!
Never happened though, and I've yet to play Sonic Adventure still.

Yea, they're the same thing. The system was only called the Genesis in the US. Everywhere else, I believe it's called the Megadrive.

    I didn't get a Genesis until like 1998, or 99---
and it came with a broken adaptor cord--the little pins inside the end that plugged into the console were broke..so i had to go back to the used game store at the local mall to get a spare.
LUCKILY this was the late 90's--when the demand for "out-of-date" video games was low, and the Genesis was like $20, and they had like 500 Genesis' in stock :D

I actually had a Game Gear before, a few months before I got my Genesis.
I still HAVE my Game Gear too
